The story behind the name

Ngā Puna Wai means ‘many spring waters’, relating to the many springs and tributaries in the area, and is part of the ancestral landscape of Ngāi Tahu. This area was once an important place for local Māori, who came together to connect and collaborate. Today, our recreational and sporting communities have continued this ethos by coming together to share our love of sport and outdoor spaces. Situated adjacent to Canterbury Agricultural Park, Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub is intended to replace facilities lost at QEII and around the city post earthquakes.

The hearing hotspot

Includes everything you need to stream multiple channels of audio in real-time over an enterprise Wi-Fi network. Venue-controlled advertising/messages, made available through a simple web portal and system updates, are delivered to the venue without on-site visits.

The Solution: Hearing Assist

WilliamsAV Hearing Hotspot™, as part of the assistive listening technology, was implemented throughout the site via Wi-Fi. This offered unprecedented capabilities combined with ease of configuration and operations best suited for Ngā Puna Wai sports hub.

The accompanying Hearing HotSpot™ application allowed the installer to configure the system wirelessly, establishing distinct zones throughout the facility. The end result allowed complete flexibility during the tuning and a distinct customer experience throughout the venue.

Partnership: Soundwise

Soundwise provided the best possible solution for Ngā Puna Wai sports hub, providing a seamless system with superior quality and design. Ngā Puna Wai sports hub will definitely be using Soundwise again for future ventures!
